Hi, My name is Uncle David. I carry only quality toys that get your hands and eyes to work with your brain. No war toys necessary, nor stuffed critters, nor battery-operated toys that play themselves. I specialize in toys your kids will want to play with and you'll want to buy.
I'm very careful about the toys I carry. I personally test all musical toys to make sure they work! I offer only positive, groovy stuff like whoopee cushions, slinkies, kaleidoscopes. BRAIN TOYS:
Activity and Coloring Books--Featuring complex designs (drawn by Ruth Heller) and challenging puzzles. $4 each. Also available: watercolor set (24 markers). $4 each.
Hebrew Coloring Books--Featuring Hebrew letters, as well as complex designs. $5 each.
Field Microscope Kit--Take this compact kit anywhere. Use sunlight to examine specimens. Includes slides and vials for samples. $25 each.
CARD GAMES:
Gypsy Witch Fortune Telling Cards--Foretell the future; see the past. Know all as told in the cards and become a fortune teller. $5 each.
Kids' Card Games--All the old favorites in kid-sized cards. Old Maid, Rummy, Fish, etc. Set of four $5.
FLYING TOYS:
Frisbees (Generic)--Toss and catch (or toss and chase until you get better). $3 each.
Kites--These 3-dimensional kite kits fly great and look superb on a wall. Choose from Phoenix, Rooster, Peacock or Butterfly designs. Very colorful. Full wing span. Bamboo construction. $6 each. Also available: Kite twine, $1 for 400-foot roll.
TIM Birds--Rubber band-powered bird that actually flies. Plastic birds modeled after Leonardo da Vinci's ornthocopter, only these really work! From France. $10 each.
HAND-HELD TOYS:
Cryptic Crystals--Fascinating, hands-on folding toy. As difficult to put down as a puppy. Quality rubber and colorful wood sticks. American made. $10 each.
Kaleidoscopes--This is the lazy person's kaleidoscope (it does the work for you). I looked through hundreds of kaleidoscopes, and these are the best I found. Liquid shapes flow past mirrored reflectors. Interchangeable liquid tubes available. Similar to other, more expensive kaleidoscopes, but just $15 each.
Magic 8-Ball--Ask the most intimate questions and get mostly vague and unclear answers like, "ask again later," or "maybe." Sometimes yes or no! $10 each.
Punching Puppets--Use thumb action to pound, punch and box your way to victory. Buy two for ten times the fun at less than twice the price. Choose from these designs (other designs sometimes available):
Slinkies--The old-fashioned metal type lasts a long time. Climb down stairs, prove gravity, amaze your cats. Select regular ($4 each) or half-size slinky junior ($2 each).
HARMLESS PRANKS:
Jumping Spiders--Giant jumping hairy spiders with real fur. Squeeze ball jumping action. Freak anyone out! Set of two $5.
Temporary Tattoos--Fool your friends with these realistic colorful tattoos. Last for days yet easily removed. Set of three $5.
Whoopee Cushions--An old standard in any prankster's box of tricks. Set of four $5.
MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS:
Accordion--an excellent toy that really plays. I spend hours playing mine. Just the toy to send to that talented nephew, niece or grandchild, or even a neighbor's kid! $25 each.
Harmonica--a great sound and easy to play. Choose from 8 or 16 holes. Just breathe in and out while moving across your lips. $5 each.
Maracas--hand-carved Eagle image gourds from Peru. Just shake to your own rhythm. $10 each, or set of 2 for $16.
OTHER STUFF:
Jamaican Wood Carvings--Hand-carved in Jamaica. Statues of sportsman, swordsman and herbsman. Also, a centaur-like horse/man statue. $250 to $450.
Lucky Elephants--Carved from bone in Thailand. Bring luck to you and yours. Approximately 1" high. $5 each or set of five for $20.
Plastic Storage Tubes--Keep stuff dry and safe while swimming, skiing or hiking. Hard Swedish plastic shaped very provocatively. Nearly indestructible. Screw-on top with cotton twine. Size 6" x 2". $5 each, or five for $20.
